According to the Tax Administration’s announcement, as part of efforts to identify the undeclared economy, the institution has reviewed the information and data at its disposal and discovered that a group of individuals have earned rental income without registering with the administration, without reporting their profits, and without paying the corresponding taxes.

These taxpayers are urged to fulfill their obligations voluntarily as soon as possible, by registering to obtain a Fiscal Number if they have not yet done so, declaring their annual profits, and paying taxes in accordance with current legislation.

The tax institution emphasizes that it possesses sufficient data and evidence to trace individuals who derive income from renting out properties. If obligations are not met voluntarily, the Tax Administration warns it will implement legal measures, including compulsory registration, calculation of tax liabilities based on existing data, application of interest and fines, as well as other administrative and legal steps provided for by the tax framework.

The Tax Administration of Kosovo reaffirms its commitment to promoting voluntary compliance with fiscal obligations and ensuring fair treatment for all taxpayers.
