Investigations into the suspected abuses at the Kosovo Insurance Bureau (BKS) have been expanded, the Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren and the Kosovo Police announced.

On September 1, 2026, the investigative procedure was extended to 21 additional BKS employees, suspected of the criminal offense of “Abuse of trust in assistance.”

Following the inclusion of these individuals, the total number of defendants in the case has reached 69.

According to the Prosecution’s suspicions, the individuals involved, acting in violation of BKS’s internal rules and procedures, allowed or participated in the transfer and receipt of uncovered sums of money. The amounts for each individual are suspected to have ranged from €2,000 to €53,000.

As a result of these actions, BKS is also suspected of having suffered damage of around €200,000.

The defendants were questioned at the Police Station in Pristina by officers of the Unit for the Investigation of Economic Crime and Corruption, while representatives of the Basic Prosecution Office in Prizren also took part in the proceedings.

As part of the financial investigation, 35 properties were seized and frozen today, including cadastral parcels, residential units and garage units. These assets are linked to three of the main defendants.

Meanwhile, the Prosecution, in cooperation with the Financial Intelligence Unit, ordered the freezing of 21 bank accounts belonging to the suspected individuals.

At the beginning of the investigation, the alleged damage to BKS was estimated at around €1.043 million. Following the addition of approximately €200,000 in damage, the total value of the suspected damage has risen to around €1.24 million.

The Prosecution and Police announced that investigative actions will continue, with the aim of fully clarifying the case and determining the possible criminal responsibility of the individuals involved.

Hetimet për rastin e dyshuar të keqpërdorimeve në Byronë Kosovare të Sigurimeve (BKS) janë zgjeruar, kanë njoftuar Prokuroria Themelore në Prizren dhe Policia e Kosovës.

Më 1 shtator 2026, procedura hetimore është shtrirë ndaj 21 punonjësve të tjerë të BKS-së, të dyshuar për veprën penale “Keqpërdorimi i besimit në ndihmë”.

Pas përfshirjes së këtyre personave, numri i përgjithshëm i të pandehurve në këtë çështje ka shkuar në 69.

Sipas dyshimeve të Prokurorisë, personat e përfshirë, duke vepruar në kundërshtim me rregullat dhe procedurat e brendshme të BKS-së, kanë lejuar ose kanë marrë pjesë në transferimin dhe përfitimin e shumave të parave pa mbulesë. Vlerat për secilin person dyshohet se kanë qenë nga 2 mijë deri në 53 mijë euro.

Si pasojë e këtyre veprimeve, BKS-së dyshohet se i është shkaktuar edhe një dëm prej rreth 200 mijë eurosh.

Të pandehurit janë marrë në pyetje në Stacionin Policor në Prishtinë nga zyrtarët e Njësisë për Hetimin e Krimeve Ekonomike dhe Korrupsionit, ndërsa në procedurë kanë marrë pjesë edhe përfaqësues të Prokurorisë Themelore në Prizren.

Në kuadër të hetimit financiar, sot janë sekuestruar dhe ngrirë 35 prona, mes tyre parcela kadastrale, njësi banesore dhe njësi garazhuese. Këto pasuri lidhen me tre prej të pandehurve kryesorë.

Ndërkohë, Prokuroria, në bashkëpunim me Njësitin e Inteligjencës Financiare, ka vendosur ngrirjen e 21 llogarive bankare që u përkasin personave të dyshuar.

Në fillim të hetimeve, dëmi i pretenduar ndaj BKS-së ishte përllogaritur në rreth 1 milion e 43 mijë euro. Pas shtimit të dëmit prej rreth 200 mijë eurosh, vlera totale e dëmit të dyshuar është rritur në rreth 1.24 milion euro.

Prokuroria dhe Policia kanë bërë të ditur se veprimet hetimore do të vijojnë, me synim sqarimin e plotë të rastit dhe përcaktimin e përgjegjësisë së mundshme penale të personave të përfshirë.
