The news was confirmed by Ali Topalli, an LDK assembly member in the Municipal Assembly of this municipality.

According to Topalli, this decision is linked to the result of the June 7, 2026 parliamentary elections, as well as the need for internal reforms within the party.

“It is true that Mr. Osmani has resigned. The reasons are the poor election results for the LDK and the need for general elections in the LDK,” he said.

Osmani had also been the LDK’s candidate for mayor of the Municipality of Fushë Kosovë in the local elections held at the end of last year, but he had failed to retain this municipality, which had been considered a bastion of the party.

So far, Besnik Osmani has not spoken publicly about his resignation.

Sipas Topallit, ky vendim lidhet me rezultatin e zgjedhjeve parlamentare të 7 qershorit 2026, si edhe me nevojën për reforma të brendshme në parti.

“Është e vërtetë që ka dhënë dorëheqje z. Osmani. Arsyet janë rezultatet jo të mira zgjedhore në LDK dhe nevoja për zgjedhje të përgjithshme në LDK”, ka thënë ai.

Osmani kishte qenë edhe kandidati i LDK-së për kryetar të Komunës së Fushë Kosovës në zgjedhjet lokale të zhvilluara në fund të vitit të kaluar, por nuk kishte arritur ta mbante këtë komunë, e cila ishte konsideruar bastion i kësaj partie.

Deri tani, Besnik Osmani nuk është deklaruar publikisht në lidhje me dorëheqjen e tij.
