Bedri Halimi, chief inspector at the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, has been found not guilty in the case known as “Brezovica”.

The decision was made public by his lawyer, Haxhi Millaku, after the proceedings concluded at the Basic Court for Serious Crimes in Peja.

According to Halimi himself, the trial panel unanimously decided to acquit him on all counts of the indictment brought by the Basic Prosecution in Ferizaj.

“Today, at the Basic Court for Serious Crimes in Peja, the trial panel unanimously found me not guilty, in my capacity as chief inspector at the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, on all counts of the indictment brought by the Basic Prosecution in Ferizaj concerning the misuse of official duty in the Brezovica process,” Halimi said.

He said that the charges against him were not supported by facts, while the evidence examined during the trial, according to him, influenced the decision to acquit him.

“When charges brought by investigating police officers and a prosecutor are built without facts, they are confronted with evidence, and the court has the final word,” Halimi wrote.

Vendimi është bërë publik nga avokati i tij, Haxhi Millaku, pas përfundimit të procesit në Gjykatën Themelore për Krime të Rënda në Pejë.

Sipas deklarimit të vetë Halimit, trupi gjykues ka vendosur në mënyrë unanime ta shpallë të pafajshëm për të gjitha pikat e aktakuzës së ngritur nga Prokuroria Themelore në Ferizaj.

“Sot në Gjykatën Themelore për Krime të Rënda në Pejë, trupi gjykues më shpalli unanimisht të pafajshëm, në cilësinë e kryeinspektorit të MMPH-së, për të gjitha pikat e aktakuzës së ngritur nga Prokuroria Themelore në Ferizaj lidhur me keqpërdorimin e detyrës zyrtare në procesin Brezovica”, ka deklaruar Halimi.

Ai është shprehur se akuzat ndaj tij nuk ishin mbështetur në fakte, ndërsa provat e shqyrtuara gjatë gjykimit, sipas tij, ndikuan në marrjen e vendimit për pafajësi.

“Kur akuza nga policët hetues dhe prokurori ndërtohet pa fakte, ajo përballet me prova dhe fjalën përfundimtare e jep Gjykata”, ka shkruar Halimi.
