A public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Kumanovo has submitted a request to the competent court for the detention of a 41-year-old woman from Kratovo. She was arrested yesterday and is under investigation for obstructing officials in the performance of their official duties and for usurpation, the Public Prosecutor’s Office announced.

According to the statement, despite the measures taken so far, the suspect has continued for a long time to occupy the “Kuklica” site, which has been declared a natural monument by decree. She charges visitors admission fees without any legal basis, gets into arguments with them and threatens them, repeatedly disturbing public order and peace.

During the latest incident, the 41-year-old is also suspected of committing the criminal offense of “Obstructing an Official in the Performance of Official Duties.” Specifically, she physically assaulted and obstructed police officers who were attempting to identify and detain her.

In seeking her detention, the prosecutor also took into consideration the fact that proceedings are underway against her over the continuing criminal offense of usurping the “Kuklica” site. As part of this case, precautionary measures had previously been imposed on her, including a ban on visiting the location, a decision she refuses to accept or comply with.

The Prosecutor’s Office also announced that the suspect and her husband had previously been involved in obstructing market inspectors in the performance of their official duties.

The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Skopje has ordered an investigation into four people after various quantities of narcotics were found in their possession over the weekend. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the suspects are believed to have committed the criminal offense of “Unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors.”

The first case involves a 50-year-old father and his 19-year-old son. They are suspected of jointly storing around five kilograms of marijuana in their home on Makedonsko-Kosovska Brigada Street, divided among several bags and prepared for further sale. During the raid, police also seized three digital scales bearing traces of drugs.

A 25-year-old man from Aracinovo has also been placed under investigation. During a search, the authorities found and confiscated around 1.8 kilograms of marijuana packaged in ten bags, as well as a digital scale. He is suspected of possessing the drugs without authorization and with the intent to sell them.

A 23-year-old resident of Aerodrom is also being investigated for the same criminal offense. He is suspected of illegally concealing 640 grams of the psychotropic substance amphetamine, 541 yellow tablets and 0.15 grams of a thick yellow substance identified as 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine in an abandoned basement on ASNOM Boulevard, with the intent to sell them.

Also found in the 23-year-old’s possession were 69 perforated yellow cards containing LSD, a digital scale and other items bearing traces of psychotropic substances, cocaine and cannabis.

The public prosecutor has submitted a proposal to the competent court requesting that all four suspects be remanded in custody, the statement said./Telegrafi/

The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Gostivar has established that the pipes through which contaminated surface water is suspected of having been discharged into the city’s water supply network were used for 22 days, from June 25 to July 16.

The director of the Gostivar “Komunalec” public utility company, the technical head of the Technical Affairs Sector, and the head of the Water Supply, Sewerage and Construction Department have been placed under investigation. They are suspected of the criminal offense of “Serious crimes against the environment and nature caused by acts of drinking water pollution.”

According to information from the Prosecutor’s Office, on June 25, the suspects instructed employees to install three submersible pumps in a surface water channel near the overflow chamber of the water supply system. Pressure testing was cited as the reason for installing them.

An inspection carried out on July 16 found that two of the pumps were still operating. Through pipes, they were pumping water from the channel into the drinking water chamber, causing the contaminated water to mix with water in the supply network.

Laboratory results from the Institute of Public Health revealed extreme exceedances of the permitted limits. The surface water samples contained 2,419.6 cfu/100 ml of coliform bacteria, while the maximum acceptable level is 50 cfu/100 ml. As a result, the water was classified as highly contaminated and unsuitable for any use.

Irregularities were also found in samples taken from the main source. They contained 39 cfu/100 ml of coliform bacteria, even though standards require the presence of these bacteria to be zero. At the same time, an increase in the number of aerobic mesophilic bacterial colonies was also detected.

A sample taken from a tap on JNA Street in Gostivar also showed a significantly elevated level of residual chlorine. The concentration was 1.1 mg/l, more than double the maximum limit of 0.5 mg/l and far above the recommended range of 0.2 to 0.3 mg/l.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the contamination caused consequences that cannot be easily remedied, prompting the launch of the investigation. All three suspects have been detained, while the public prosecutor will decide during the day which measures to propose to the court.
