The Basic Criminal Court in Skopje is facing a severe staff shortage.

Of the 628 positions planned in total, only 208 have currently been filled.

The problem is particularly pronounced among technical staff.

The institution has only seven cleaners, while women serving prison sentences are also engaged to clean the premises because of the staff shortage.

Nevertheless, despite the staff shortages, the number of old cases has fallen significantly over the past year.
