Ardian Arifaj, a former adviser to Hashim Thaçi, has commented on the march announced for September 12, which is being organized in support of the former KLA leaders standing trial in The Hague.

During the program “Info Magazine” on Klan Kosova, he said the event had been conceived as a nationwide march and that the invitation therefore extended to every citizen, regardless of political affiliation.

“As far as I know, everyone is invited, and I am not aware of any discussions about who should or should not be invited, because the march was conceived as a nationwide event and the invitation is open to everyone. This is not only about the fate of Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, Rexhep Selimi or the others in The Hague. It is not only their fate that is at stake, but that of Kosovo as a whole and its future—not only its past, but also the future of the state of Kosovo, how much it will be accepted and how much it will be challenged in the future if we receive a decision of the kind that we neither want nor expect,” Arifaj said.

In his assessment, an unfavorable ruling by the Specialist Chambers could also have consequences for the way Kosovo constructs its narrative about its past and future.

Arifaj also said that the September 12 march is expected to mark the culmination of a campaign and several activities that have already begun in Kosovo’s municipalities.

Ardian Arifaj, ish-këshilltar i Hashim Thaçit, ka komentuar marshin e paralajmëruar për 12 shtator, i cili organizohet në mbështetje të ish-drejtuesve të UÇK-së që po gjykohen në Hagë.

Gjatë emisionit “Info Magazine” në Klan Kosova, ai deklaroi se aktiviteti është konceptuar si një marsh gjithëpopullor, ndaj ftesa vlen për çdo qytetar, pa dallime politike.

“Sa di unë janë të ftuar të gjithë dhe nuk di që ka aty diskutime kush me u thirr e kush mos me u thirr, sepse marshi është ideuar ashtu që të jetë gjithëpopullor edhe ftesa është për të gjithë sepse nuk është në pyetje pra vetëm fati i Hashim Thaçit ose Kadri Veselit ose Jakup Krasniqit ose Rexhep Selimit ose dhe të tjerët që janë në Hagë nuk është pyetje vetëm fakti fati i tyre është i tërë Kosovës edhe e ardhmja jo vetëm e kaluara por dhe e ardhmja e shtetit të Kosovës se sa do të pranohet sa do të kontestohet në të ardhmen se nëse do të kemi një vendim çfarë nuk e dëshirojmë, nuk e presim”, u shpreh Arifaj.

Sipas vlerësimit të tij, një vendim i pafavorshëm i Gjykatës Speciale mund të ketë pasoja edhe mbi mënyrën se si Kosova e ndërton rrëfimin e saj për të shkuarën dhe të ardhmen.

Arifaj bëri të ditur gjithashtu se marshi i 12 shtatorit pritet të shënojë pikën kulmore të një fushate dhe të disa aktiviteteve që kanë filluar tashmë në komunat e Kosovës.
