Following the court’s acquittal, Glauk Konjufca’s lawyer, Arbnora Zeqiri, said the judgment demonstrates that criminal liability must be determined on the basis of the law and the evidence.

She announced that the court had acquitted Konjufca of the charge of using a weapon or dangerous instrument.

“We welcome this just decision, through which the court once again placed criminal responsibility where it belongs: with the law and the evidence,” Zeqiri said.

According to her, in order to establish criminal liability, all the elements of the offense for which the charge was brought must be proven. The lawyer added that the defense believes the Prosecution had not secured a sufficient evidentiary basis that would have enabled the court to reach any decision other than the judgment announced today.

Pas vendimit lirues të gjykatës, avokatja e Glauk Konjufcës, Arbnora Zeqiri, deklaroi se aktgjykimi dëshmon se përgjegjësia penale duhet të përcaktohet mbi bazën e ligjit dhe provave.

Ajo bëri të ditur se gjykata e ka liruar Konjufcën nga akuza për veprën penale të përdorimit të armës apo mjetit të rrezikshëm.

“E përshëndesim këtë vendim të drejtë, përmes të cilit gjykata edhe një herë e vendosi përgjegjësinë penale aty ku i takon: te ligji dhe provat”, u shpreh Zeqiri.

Sipas saj, për të ngritur përgjegjësi penale duhet të vërtetohen të gjitha përbërësit e veprës për të cilën është ngritur akuza. Avokatja shtoi se mbrojtja vlerëson që Prokuroria nuk kishte siguruar një bazë të mjaftueshme provash, e cila do t’i mundësonte gjykatës të merrte një vendim tjetër përveç aktgjykimit të shpallur sot.
