Arbër Rexhaj, a lawmaker from the Vetëvendosje Movement, said that an attempt to constitute parliament without an agreement on the election of the president would automatically lead the country to elections.

According to Rexhaj, the current initiative is specifically aimed at avoiding new elections.

“If parliament is constituted without an agreement, the country will automatically go to elections,” he said.

Rexhaj also spoke about the reactions to Bekim Sejdiu, the joint candidate of VV and LDK.

He said that the objections to Sejdiu had nothing to do with his personality, but with the acting prime minister and leader of VV, Albin Kurti.

“None of them questions Bekim Sejdiu’s stature. Their opposition is related to Albin Kurti. But if Kurti is the problem, then why did you agree to a political discussion with VV?” Rexhaj said.

Deputeti i Lëvizjes Vetëvendosje, Arbër Rexhaj, ka deklaruar se përpjekja për konstituimin e Kuvendit pa një dakordim për zgjedhjen e Presidentit do ta çonte automatikisht vendin në zgjedhje.

Sipas Rexhajt, nisma aktuale synon pikërisht shmangien e zgjedhjeve të reja.

“Nëse Kuvendi konstituohet pa një marrëveshje, vendi shkon automatikisht në zgjedhje”, u shpreh ai.

Rexhaj foli gjithashtu për reagimet ndaj Bekim Sejdiut, kandidatit të përbashkët të VV-së dhe LDK-së.

Ai vlerësoi se kundërshtimet ndaj Sejdiut nuk kanë të bëjnë me personalitetin e tij, por me kryeministrin në detyrë dhe kreun e VV-së, Albin Kurtin.

“Askush prej tyre nuk e vë në pikëpyetje figurën e Bekim Sejdiut. Kundërshtimi i tyre lidhet me Albin Kurtin. Por, nëse problemi është Kurti, atëherë pse ishit dakord për një diskutim politik me VV-në?”, deklaroi Rexhaj.
