The Basic Prosecution Office in Pristina has ordered the 48-hour detention of a person identified by the initials A.K. as part of the investigation into the death of KEK worker Arbenit Ahmeti, 32.

A.K. is suspected of the criminal offense of “Destruction, damage or removal of protective equipment and endangering safety at the workplace,” provided for under Article 358 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.

According to initial information, the incident occurred during the transportation and relocation of 6kV cables. The victim is suspected of having come into contact with electrical voltage, sustaining serious injuries.

The prosecutor on duty at the General Department was informed of the accident that occurred at the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK), where a worker lost his life at the workplace.

Following the report of the case, the relevant units of the Kosovo Police, the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals (ICMM), the Labour Inspectorate and KEK’s Internal Inspectorate went to the scene.

Under the instructions of the prosecutor on duty, the responsible institutions carried out the necessary investigative actions aimed at fully clarifying the circumstances and causes that led to the worker’s death.

The prosecutor handling the case will assess the circumstances and evidence collected so far within the legal deadline. Subsequently, the prosecutor will undertake the necessary measures, including filing a request for the imposition of one of the security measures against the defendant in the criminal proceedings, in accordance with the legislation in force.

Prokuroria Themelore e Prishtinës ka urdhëruar ndalimin për 48 orë të personit me inicialet A.K., në kuadër të hetimeve për vdekjen e punëtorit të KEK-ut, Arbenit Ahmeti, 32-vjeçar.

A.K. dyshohet për veprën penale “Asgjësimi, dëmtimi ose heqja e pajisjeve mbrojtëse dhe rrezikimi i sigurisë në vendin e punës”, e paraparë në nenin 358 të Kodit Penal të Republikës së Kosovës.

Sipas informacioneve të para, ngjarja ka ndodhur gjatë transportimit dhe zhvendosjes së kabllove 6kV. Dyshohet se viktima ka rënë në kontakt me tensionin elektrik, duke pësuar plagë të rënda.

The New Trade Union of the Kosovo Energy Corporation has reacted following the death of another worker at the workplace.

According to a notice published by the trade union on Facebook, worker Arbenit Ahmeti died today after coming into contact with electrical voltage while carrying out his duties. His photograph was also published in the statement.

The trade union said it had received the news of Arbenit Ahmeti’s death with great sorrow.

“Arbenit died while on duty, leaving behind great pain for his family, colleagues and everyone who had the opportunity to know and work with him. On behalf of the New Trade Union of KEK, we extend our sincerest condolences to the Ahmeti family, his relatives, friends and colleagues. The loss of a worker at the workplace is a great sorrow for the family, colleagues and the entire KEK community,” the trade union said in its statement.

Sindikata e Re e Korporatës Energjetike të Kosovës ka reaguar pas vdekjes së një tjetër punëtori në vendin e punës.

Sipas njoftimit të publikuar nga sindikata në Facebook, punëtori Arbenit Ahmeti ndërroi jetë sot, pasi gjatë kryerjes së detyrave të tij ra në kontakt me tensionin elektrik. Në reagim është publikuar edhe fotografia e tij.

Sindikata ka bërë të ditur se lajmin për ndarjen nga jeta të Arbenit Ahmeti e ka pranuar me dhimbje të madhe.
