The Alliance for Albanians says the situation in Gostivar is moving toward full normalization. According to the party, this is being achieved thanks to the efforts of local and central institutions, organizations, friends and all parties involved, which it thanked for their readiness and support.

The statement says that crisis teams at the local and central levels are operating extremely efficiently. Meanwhile, the Municipality of Gostivar is cooperating fully with the relevant institutions and has made all its resources available to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

Efforts to restore normality are continuing intensively. It is expected that water for technical use will be secured very soon, followed by safe drinking water.

At the same time, the Alliance for Albanians called on all parties not to exploit the situation for political gain at the expense of citizens. Its criticism was directed particularly at those who, according to the party, have not brought even a single bottle of water to Gostivar, but have confined themselves solely to opposing the institutions’ actions.

The statement emphasizes that political ratings cannot be built on someone else’s misfortune. At this moment, priority must be given to resolving the situation and supporting citizens.

The party also called for all circumstances and responsibilities to be established through a fair, objective and transparent procedure.

In its media statement, the party said that VLEN is prioritising family employment instead of focusing on issues that it says are essential for Albanians.

“VLEN has turned state institutions into employment offices for the relatives and close associates of its officials. In exchange for positions and privileges, its representatives remain silent about the deterioration of the status of Albanians, the Albanian language, fair representation, the gambling law, the bar exam in Albanian and the blocking of the European integration process,” the party said in its statement.

As its latest example, AA cited Mimoza Musa, an MP and vice-president of VLEN. According to its claims, Musa’s father, Arif Musa, despite being retired, has been elected a member of the Supervisory Board of the Development Bank of North Macedonia.

The party stressed that while serving as a member of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption, Arif Musa had called for different standards to be applied to appointments in public institutions. “The irony is that Arif Musa, as a former member of the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption, once called for appointments to be reviewed and competitions to be reopened wherever nepotism was found. Today, the same principles should apply to him as well,” AA stressed.

The statement also mentions Nusret Haliti, whom AA identifies as Arif Musa’s nephew and the current acting director of the Agency for Electronic Communications.

“Family favouritism continues with his nephew, Nusret Haliti, who holds the position of director of the Agency for Electronic Communications,” the statement said.

The Alliance for Albanians has called on institutions and the public to clarify the procedures followed for these appointments. “We therefore publicly ask whether there was political influence in these appointments and whether the procedures were transparent and competitive,” AA stated.

In conclusion, AA claims that VLEN has failed to fulfil its pledge to fight nepotism. “VLEN did not fight nepotism. It merely waited its turn to benefit from it,” the Alliance for Albanians’ statement concluded.

Following the debate over the new Electoral Code and the lack of a common position among the parties, Snopçe said that ASH is in favor of the diaspora voting both electronically and by post, but not through three separate electoral districts.

He stressed that their position is for voters from the diaspora to vote for the polling centers linked to their addresses in the country. According to him, the aim is not to have separate MPs from the diaspora, but for its vote to affect the 120 MPs, depending on where they live in the country.

Snopçe added that if the population census is also linked to the diaspora, then such an approach is very logical.

Among other things, he said they support scrapping the three electoral districts, with one MP each for the diaspora, and having diaspora votes directly affect MPs in Macedonia.

ASH says the deadlines have already passed, while citizens continue to hear only excuses, delays, and diplomatic interpretations.

According to the party, this Government promised to accelerate the European path, but instead brought stagnation. It stressed that, instead of opening negotiating chapters, the country is waiting for the next report, while instead of genuine reforms, citizens are being served propaganda.

The Alliance for Albanians says that the Albanian partners in the Government bear direct responsibility for this failure. According to the party, they cannot hide behind general statements, because they promised Europe, while today they remain silent in the face of the blockade.

ASH is calling for political accountability, real reforms, and the restoration of seriousness to the country’s European agenda.

The party also underlines that the road to the European Union is not built with words, but with work, decisions, and political courage.

According to Taravari, VLEN set out on the path to government by seeking the support of Albanians and promising change, but after two years, citizens, as he says, are not seeing results, only silence, excuses and retreat. He stresses that there are no constitutional changes, no movement forward on the European path, no advancement of the Albanian language, no genuine protection of fair representation, and no serious investments in Albanian municipalities.

Taravari further adds that VLEN had promised it would bring a voice to the Government, but according to him, it ended up becoming the shadow of other people’s decisions.

“Albanians did not vote for ministers who count the days in their seats and remain silent when citizens’ interests are affected. VLEN did not fall because of inability, but because of the choice to remain in power at any cost. The Alliance for Albanians said it and proved that when there is no delivery, there is no reason to stay on as decoration. The time for excuses is over. Now every promise must be measured by work, and every mandate by responsibility to the citizens,” Taravari writes at the end.

According to Snopçe, the Alliance for Albanians’ union with VLEN did not fulfill its intended goal, although, as he said, change was achieved by sending DUI into opposition.

“Our aim was to change the status quo. DUI had been in power for 20 years and young people had lost hope, which is why this major migration happened. We were the ones who brought down Gruevski, the three MPs of the Alliance for Albanians. Even though we did not manage to achieve our goal, after a short time we left the Government,” he said.

Snopçe said the problem emerged during the period when they were in power, when they decided to join the Albanian opposition with the idea of bringing in a new political lineup and with the conviction that things would develop differently.

“The change did not come. It was a movement that restored hope to the citizens. We sent DUI into opposition. But the agreement we made with VMRO-DPMNE and Mickoski was not implemented. In fact, that dogma of ‘Macedonia of the Macedonians’ became even more apparent, and the trampling and campaign against Albanians began. VMRO-DPMNE started behaving like a dominant force. I was the first to say that if the trampling of Albanian interests continues, we will leave the government,” Snopçe said.

Regarding the possibility of new parliamentary elections, he said that everything depends on Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski.

“This issue depends on Hristijan Mickoski. He has the numbers. But he says there will be no constitutional changes. I think he will call elections, since this is his last mandate and he cannot maintain this party rating. I think there should be elections for many reasons. We have an economic crisis, we have debts, and he will keep this party rating. In my opinion, by the end of the year we will have a technical government, while in the spring of next year there will be elections,” Snopçe said, adding that the agreement with AKI will continue further as well, in case there are new early elections./Telegrafi/
