The Alliance for Albanians announced in a statement that the latest results from microbiological analyses of water samples taken at four locations in Gostivar indicate that the situation is improving and moving toward stabilization.

AA called on citizens to continue following the recommendations of the relevant institutions and to obtain information only from official sources. According to the party, citizens’ concerns are entirely understandable and justified, but calm, restraint and cooperation are needed until all analyses and related procedures have been completed.

The statement urged against drawing premature conclusions and called for labels or accusations to be avoided until the institutions have completed their professional work. At the same time, AA appealed for an end to insulting and divisive language, stressing that public health should be a unifying issue and should not be exploited for political confrontation.

The Alliance for Albanians emphasized that the Crisis Headquarters is fulfilling its duties, while the mayor of the Municipality of Gostivar has made all municipal resources available to manage the situation and assist citizens. The support and engagement of the Government and central institutions were also described as important and welcome.

According to AA, protecting citizens’ health, providing continuous and transparent information, and normalizing the situation as quickly as possible must remain the only priorities.

Citizens have the right to know whether those claims were based on serious security assessments or were merely political rhetoric aimed at frightening people and influencing their participation in the gathering.

The Alliance for Albanians recalls that the right to protest is guaranteed by the Constitution and that no one may restrict it through threats, manipulation or unfounded statements.

They demand that the Ministry of Interior provide a full and transparent answer. If there was indeed information about a threat, it should be made public. If there was not, then it must be explained on what basis public opinion was alarmed.

AA says the deadlines have already passed, while citizens continue to hear only excuses, delays and diplomatic interpretations. According to the party, this Government promised to speed up the process toward Europe, but instead brought stagnation.

“Instead of opening negotiating chapters, the country is waiting for the next report. Instead of real reforms, citizens are being offered propaganda. The Albanian partners in the Government bear direct responsibility for this failure. They cannot hide behind general statements, because they promised Europe, while today they remain silent in the face of the blockade,” AA said.

The Alliance for Albanians is demanding political accountability, the implementation of real reforms, and the return of seriousness to the country’s European agenda.

According to the party, the road to the European Union is not built with words, but with work, decisions and political courage.

According to AA, the gambling industry creates addiction, drives families toward economic collapse, burdens the healthcare and social protection systems, while at the same time increasing social problems that undermine the stability of communities. The party stresses that statistics and the experiences of families on the ground clearly testify to the serious consequences brought by this industry.

AA believes that the VLEN proposal, which foresees a distance of 500 meters between casinos and schools, is insufficient. According to it, this measure represents only a facade that legalizes and grants operating permission to an industry that, as the party says, continues to produce addiction and destruction.

The Alliance for Albanians is calling for the complete closure of gambling activities in the Republic of North Macedonia, considering this a necessary step to protect children, young people, and families.

ASH also calls on lawmakers to listen to the voices of citizens and affected families, to abandon any solution that legalizes gambling, and to adopt clear and bold measures to prevent addiction, support families, and strengthen the healthcare and social systems.

“The Alliance for Albanians will continue to fight against any policy that endangers the well-being of our citizens,” the AA statement said.
