In a public post, Maqedonci recalled a quote by former U.S. President Ronald Reagan to underline that freedom must be safeguarded by every generation.

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction,” he wrote, adding that at a time when the United States is celebrating the 250th anniversary of independence, a country is being honored whose unwavering commitment to freedom has served as an inspiration to the world.

He also stressed that Kosovo feels proud to stand alongside the United States, which he described as the country’s closest friend and ally.

“Kosovo is proud to stand by our closest friend and ally. Happy Fourth of July!” he concluded.
